Silverdale Water District in the Community

Being part of the Silverdale community is our honor and our privilege.  We encourage our employees to participate in community events that support our mission:

Silverdale Water District will provide the highest quality water to our community, now and in the future.

Below you will find our recent involvement in community events that promote water education, conservation, and are just plain fun.

2019 Kitsap County Fair – As a member of WaterPAK (Water Purveyors Association of Kitsap), Silverdale Water District helped organize and staff an information booth at the Kitsap County Fair and Stampede. Visitors learned about water quality, quantity and conservation.  There were historical photos, information on recycled water, and fun displays and games. 2019 Day of Caring –Silverdale Water District provided volunteers to participate in United Way of Kitsap County 2019 Day of Caring.  Maintaining and upgrading Clear Creek Trail is a favorite activity for the SWD Team.  Below, Service Technician Kenny Adams and Laborer Douglas Cable are hard at work on the Trail.  Maintenance Supervisor Eric Pickard was also part of the team.

2019 Kids Day – Through our affiliation with WaterPAK (Water Purveyors of Kitsap), SWD participated in this Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue annual event to provide safety education to local children.  Service Techs Chuy Gutierrez and Ralph Balajadia let kids know about the water cycle and the importance of water conservation at the WaterPAK booth.

2019 F.A.R.M. Days – SWD employees enjoyed assisting at the 2019 F.A.R.M. Days event in May.  Special needs children are invited to “spend a day at the farm” at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.  Below, Service Tech Mo Beck assists an attendee at the pony ride.  Other employees assisted with photography and breakdown of the event.

2019 Kitsap Water Festival – This annual event introduces the water cycle, conservation and many water-related topics to 4th graders in Kitsap County.  It’s a huge effort presented by Kitsap County with the support of local utilities, nonprofits, companies, and lots of volunteers.  Silverdale Water District is proud to be part of planning and executing this awesome event for local students
